As you travel into the cool of the forest country, deeper and higher, far into the mountains you will find Cybele Forest Lodge and Health Spa. Set on three hundred acres of African paradise, The Lodge is a charming old farmhouse with a wide verandah where you can sip sundowners whilst looking out over the magnificent gardens. Let the world slip away as you watch the monkeys cavorting in the giant Turpentine Trees. Take in the cool violet of the Jacaranda, the shocking pink of the Tibouchina and the scarlet umbrella of the African Flame Tree.
The magic of Cybele emerges as you are shown to your room. Accommodation is limited to 28 guests, ensuring peace and quiet, and personal attention. Each of the suites and cottages has been furnished and decorated to exacting standards. Original art adorns the walls and every whim is catered for, from the well-stocked mini bar in each room – complete with freshly sliced lemon and lime for your gin-and-tonic and ginger for your tea – to the little sheep you’ll find on your pillow at night. All rooms and suites have walled gardens, many with views over the mountains, and six have climate controlled pools for your exclusive use. Other features include separate lounge areas, air conditioning throughout, heated towel rails, satellite television, immaculate bedrooms and bathrooms – many with walled outside showers, underfloor heating, and fireplaces ensuring, in winter, you can drift off to sleep with the comforting flicker of an open fire.
The Forest Health Spa at Cybele provides a natural wellspring of health and peace, offering a wide range of treatments to rejuvenate the body and restore the soul. Step softly on the pine needles to a haven of serenity, the heart of which is formed by a tranquil Zen garden. Guests are encouraged to book a consultation with the Spa Manager to ensure that they receive the most from their Forest Health Spa experience. Cybele offers two Hydrotherapy baths – one hewn from natural granite and situated in its own private courtyard. The other is located indoors for year-round use. Guests can choose between sharing their Spa experience in a tastefully appointed double treatment room, or luxuriate on their own in one of our two separate therapy rooms. Guests also have the option of enjoying their treatments in their room during spa hours or taking advantage of the Spa’s after hours service. Treatments include facials, massages, body wraps, manicures and pedicures. We also offer a steam room experience and use of our sauna, as well as spacious showers with multiple high pressure jets, in combination with certain packages.

Dining At Cybele Forest Lodge
The food at Cybele is supervised by internationally experienced chefs and could be described as classic French combined with traditional English. Naturally, we use only the best and the freshest of ingredients. No expense is spared in the preparation of our food, which has been acclaimed on numerous occasions by guests and journalists from all over the world, as amongst the best on offer in South Africa. The lodge offers a full buffet breakfast, including seasonal, fresh and poached fruits, home-baked muesli, ham, cheeses, home baked scones, croissants, muffins and preserves, freshly squeezed juices followed by a traditional English breakfast, to order, incorporating, for example, dishes such as eggs benedict, kippers, etc.
Table d ‘Hote dinner menu is presented every evening and you may choose to dine between 7:30pm and 9:00pm. Pre-dinner snacks are served from 7:00pm till 8:45pm in the main house. The dinner menu offers diners a well-selected choice of starters, main courses, side dishes, desserts and cheeses to satisfy all palates. Lunch is a là carte, served either in the gardens under the trees, in the dining room or in the privacy of your room.
